Rebecca ( Becky ) Ewing

Born In Havana Cuba under a Communist Government, I have learned to Love and Respect This Magnificent Country ! My parents were both Preachers and Bible school teachers or The Nazarene Church. With the Help of the church were were able to leave Cuba in 1967 and Move to Spain. We lived in Spain for almost a Year. I went to Kindergarten in Cuba and in Spain and again in The US!
From Spain we flew to New York. I will never forget flying into New York and seeing so many people all speaking English and we could not understand a single word. Back then Spansih was not as common as it is today. My dad could only say Hot Dogs when he ordered at a Restaurant, WE were so sick of Hot Dogs. One day we was bound and determined to order something different so he tried to describe to the waitress what he wanted. He was trying to describe a Hamburger ( well actually 6 of them) The Waitress brought him 6 Hot dogs instead...He was very frustrated. We then Moved to Demin New Mexico where my dad and mom pastored a church there. I have very cold memories of Demin New Mexico. It was cold and the house we lived in had no insulation and very little heat. I remember all of us sleeping in one double bed (6 of us) to stay warm.
From Demin we Moved to Yuma Arizona. We lived there 3 years. After there we Moved to LA California. I went to school there from 3 grade to 6th grade.
We then moved to Houston Texas...That is the state I call home. That is where I finished school and had my babies.
My dad and mom moved allot due to establishing churches then moving on once they were established.
I married my first husband at the young age of 17...totally clueless of life and marriage. I had two fab Kids...Kevin and Kim Tarver. My Husband (Ex now) Got transferred to Crossett Arkansas with the company he was working at. So we moved to Arkansas in 1982.
We later got a divorce and I moved to Russellville Arkansas in 1986 where I married my current husband James E Ewing.
We married and combined two families. He had Three boys and I had one boy and one girl.
Life then became very interesting and complicated to say the least.
At the time I was not

Exciting Week

I am finally home and missing Maryland, Not the state of course just that Grandbaby,daughter-in-law and son. My plane landed in Little Rock at 4pm I then drove to Ozark and picked Kendra and Derek and we then drove to The Ewing Farm for a weekend of camping celebrating Christians Birthday (wow 9 already) and lots of excitement. I will be posting pictures soon. Talk about excitement. Derek ran into Jon truck with Our Four wheeler, Did some damage but it could have been so much worse. He is okay and the truck will survive but Jon might not.
Matt came to camp after he got off work, We missed Kim and AV and Kevin,Amber and Kierstyn. We saw Lonnie, Betty and Kelse and had a great time around the campfire. We danced and even had David,Matt, Jon and the kids do a really cool dance. It rained on Sunday Morning, so we camped out in the barn. Christian shot his first squirrel and Jon killed 2 , that he used in his skit of making the dead squirrels talk and kiss each other. The kids sure thought it was fun. Kamire also disappeared into the woods and gave us a scare, when we finally found her we asked her why she did that, and she said " I went looking for deer" we asked her if she found any and she said "I saw 5 pink deer" Wow what a imagination.
As we headed home, Matt and the kids went on highway 16 back to fayetteville, and Hydroplaned, blew a front tire out and ended up in the ditch, almost flipped his blazer. His cell phone was dead so a couple stopped and he asked them to call us, God was watching after him because he could have went over the mountain. The convoy of Jr with the truck and trailer and David with his truck and Myself headed to find him. We found him at the Deer store where the nicest man fixed his tire, put it on and gave us what he called the "Ewing discount" and only charged $5.00 for his trouble, did i mention he was actually closed and opened for us. Wow only in Arkansas do you find such friendly people. OH I almost forgot, in my state of panic after getting the phone call about Matt, I pulled over and went to find JR and accidentally run into his truck and dented it. BOY WAS HE TICKED! I braked but I slid into him because of the mud and rain. SO David's truck was the only one that did not get his this weekend. We did have lots of fun and spent time around the camp fire talking about the goooood ole Days!
Keep watching for the pictures coming soon.
So long for now
